Did you know that a stroke strikes every five minutes in the UK? Strokes can affect anyone and their impacts can be life changing. We took part in the Make May Purple Campaign to raise awareness.
Chiptech decided to Make May Purple for Stroke Awareness! Raising awareness of strokes, the signs and the impacts they have is more important than ever this year as a result of coronavirus adding more challenges to our everyday lives. Strokes not only affect the sufferer, but their family and friends too and we decided to focus our 2020 campaign on the strength and resilience of all those affected by strokes.
We teamed up with our friends over in New Zealand to make May as Purple as possible. We all put on our most purple outfits and celebrated the inspiration people who have survived strokes.
From all of us here at Chiptech, whether we be in the UK working from home or down under… we think you are inspirational, strong, resilient, brave, incredible, courageous, amazing and warriors!
Remember the 4 signs of a stroke: Act FAST
Face: Can the person smile? Has their face fallen on one side?
Arms: Can the person raise both arms and keep them there?
Speech problems: Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say? Is their speech slurred?
Time: If you see any of these three signs, it’s time to call 999.
